About Claudine

My Passion

My primary focus is on helping others transform and create joy in their lives. I believe that when we are living life in alignment with our values and purpose, most of our mental health issues (depression, anxiety, etc.) either resolve or become significantly more manageable.  I feel that my role as a therapist is to journey alongside the client as we move from where you are now to where you want to be.

My Approach

My theoretical approach is eclectic.  I have training in a lot of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR and other trauma informed approaches.  I am most strongly influenced by the work of Carl Rogers and Humanistic Psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

"True happiness lies in accepting yourself and getting in touch with yourself." Carl Rogers

I use a lot of mindfulness and neuroscience based techniques to build upon client's strengths to move them in the direction they desire.  This is an active approach that views "therapy is what happens between sessions". That means applying what we explore in our session in your daily life outside of therapy.

Since I do not adhere to a single theoretical approach, I use a variety of techniques that I think will benefit individual clients. I do not have a “one size fits all” mentality when it comes to counseling.

My Background

I  grew up moving around the country.  As an adult, I lived and worked in San Diego, CA, Prescott, AZ, St. Louis, MO and now in the Clearwater, Fl area. I received my first Master’s in Psychology at San Diego State University in 1996 and my second Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Prescott University in 2007. I have a background in both clinical research and direct practice. I have a background in clinical research, FDA trials, and substance abuse treatment. I worked in hospital, residential treatment facilities, substance abuse treatment, and behavioral health agencies prior to starting my own private practice in 2011. I moved to a completely online practice in 2021.

Currently, I am a Licensed Profession Counselor (LPC) in the State of Missouri, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Illinois, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Florida. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).

When I am not supporting others grow and thrive, I am dancing, reading, crafting, thrifting,  playing with my two goofy standard poodles, and planning my next adventure with my best friend (and hubby).
